The straw that breaks ... Second Day in the Park underpass

flooded the railway is only one of many symptoms of a station that is drifting ... The super

rain yesterday (Thursday, 29 July) made us realize how little has been sighted - under pressure from the metropolitan area and high speed, which have "forced" closure of the passages at the level of capital and the village of Le Crete - hold together the two parts of the country (de dee landed here and goddess' it was once) with well four underpasses and even a flyover .

Of these four subways, at least two yesterday afternoon I went under water : one in the center, at the municipal football field, and that of the train station.

The first is famous for its ease of flooding, and one would expect that those who manage the emergency has already all arranged if necessary . I mean, simply, barriers and detour signs clear, to be placed in at least four places in the country:

  1. height of 'ex out of the ring road to divert Coming from Casale, and must go to Portegrandi on the new road (Via Pascoli, by May Day, Boulevard of the Republic , a new subway, avenue of resistance);
  2. to "draft" of round front of the church to turn back to the former out of the ring road (and there because Pascoli etc.) who is from the town center must go beyond rail, or sending it over the Sile, and then to Bagaggiolo Portegrandi;
  3. the roundabout path of resistance for divert those coming from Marcon and wants to go downtown or to the Fourth Treviso on the new road (Viale della Repubblica, the new subway, etc..)
  4. the traffic light at the end of Viale Kennedy , to divert those coming from the residential area of avenue of resistance to go downtown via the Sun, and from there back to the roundabout path of resistance (and therefore Avenue of the Republic, a new subway, etc.)..

It is in this fourth point, however, the city police yesterday deflected all those who came from Avenue Kennedy (who also had the arrow on the left!) Via Marconi, a road that is dangerous any attempt to reverse the direction of gear, unless you expect to arrive at the roundabout in downtown Portegrandi. A bit 'too much for someone who wanted to just go all'IlD ... As for the

subway station last night at 21.30 was still flooded , committed to civil protection to clear the water. Nine and a half: four hours after the storm ! This means that all commuters between 18 and 20 have returned from Venice, Mestre and San Donà, or have been soaked, or had to cross the tracks (which is not easy and very dangerous after the modernization of the station). Today, then, clearly, both lifts were out of , pace of the disabled of good will, that trying to live a life as independent as possible, but are not even able to take public transport.

This, together with the tiles of the wall of the ramp side Crowne Plaza literally torn away by the wind last week (see article on the New July 20), was the straw that broke my staff. .. underpass.

so I decided to publish a bit 'of photos taken recently in his station, including subway, waiting room and parking. These are not people who are going to look with the lantern: just, finding every day to make a few steps on foot or by bike to the station, I have found them under the eyes and I have immortalized. This is demonstrated by the very quality of photos taken with a camera but not with the phone.

The SUV parked on the parking for the disabled without permission to do so (picture taken just last night), the Bartolini pickup trucks parked in reverse, with the bucket and a ladder hanging over the sidewalk, head height (if not to occlude the access ramp to the parking for the disabled!) snatched the bicycle wheels, seat and handlebar, and hurled down from the car park on the access ramp to the underpass, the ticket machines tickets gutted and left for days open, with electrical wires and sharp pieces of children's reach.

are all attributable to the famous examples of the broken window theory formulated in 1982 by criminologists James Q. Wilson and George Kelling, according to which not punish small transgressions may generate emulation phenomena that lead to spirals of vandalism - if not violence - even more serious . In fact, if someone breaks a window of a building and this is not immediately adjusted, is spreading the idea that those who see the building is abandoned or left without care, "inviting" soon other thugs to break other windows and causing other phenomena of violence against property.

not wait for someone to break it with a stone embankment of a window of the station to be aware of prevailing in a pitiful state of the jewels of our country (at least according to "Theory of the proximity of public transport" applied in recent years by real estate operators to justify the rising cost of real estate in our country ...).
